Non Communicable Disease Control Program of DGHS and Disabled Rehabilitation & Research Association (DRRA) organized a National Seminar titled "Defining Disability for Health Workforce in Bangladesh on June 26 2018 at the Conference Room of BRAC Center Inn, Dhaka. Prof. Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, DG, DGHS was present as Chief Guest while Prof. AHM Enayet Hussain, ADG (Planning and Development), DGHS presided over the seminar and Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, ADG (Administration), DGHS spoke as special guest.
Prof. Dr. Nur Mohammad, Line Director, NCDC welcome participants and shared objectives of the seminar. Dr. Khaleda Islam, Former Director, Primary Health Care, DGHS, Ms. Farida Yesmin, ED, DRRA and Ms. Rifat Shahpar Khan, Independent Consultant presented their key notes in line with the title of the seminar. A large number medical professionals, NGO representatives, persons with disabilities and people from all walks of life attended the Seminar.
A Guideline has been developed: 'Defining Disability for Medical Doctors and PHC Workforce in Bangladesh' to create greater access of persons with disabilities to public health facilities.
