Inclusive Disaster Risk Management
In Bangladesh, disasters have an enormous impact on human infrastructure, lives and livelihoods. Persons with disabilities are mostly ignored throughout the disaster management sequences especially in early preparedness and post-disaster rehabilitation program. DRRA addresses disability issues in its Disaster Risk Management Program to promote equitable rights and inclusion of the persons with disabilities in disaster preparedness and during and post disaster management program. The objective of DRRA Inclusive Disaster Risk Management Program is to save persons with disabilities and reduce the damage of their lives and livelihoods from disasters. In accordance with the article 11 and 32 of UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, DRRA inclusive disaster risk management program is developed to ensure maximum benefits from and participate in disaster relief, emergency response and disaster risk reduction strategies.
