A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Disabled Rehabilitation and Research Association (DRRA) and Community Based Health Care (CBHC) has been signed on June 01 for the period of June 2017 to December 2019. This is a strategic partnership between the organization and the authority of the Community Clinics of the government who are responsible for serving the health care services at the community level under the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW).
The main purpose of this MoU is to promote DRRA’s inclusive health model in community Clinics through utilizing the existing health system and facilities of Bangladesh Government with a collaborative relationship between the parties. It needs to mention here that the DRRA inclusive health model is acknowledged by the Government and which is already adapted by government health program. DRRA will provide the support for the capacity development of Community Health Care Providers (CHCP) and Community Groups so that they can identify the persons with disabilities and people at risk of disabilities and refer them to the health and rehabilitation units at health complexes in nearest Upazilas. At present 240 community clinics in 9 Upazilas are working under this program and it will be expanded to16 Upazilas gradually.
