Pohela Boishakh, the first day of Bangla Calendar celebrated amid traditional festivities and enthusiasm among Children with Disabilities and their parents and caregivers in all DRRA centers including Antoinette Kendra and Ghior Center. All children with disabilities celebrated the day as centuries’ old tradition by wearing festival colorful dresses, masks, flowers and taking placards. They gathered in the center with parents to welcome the Bengali New Year 1424 with new hopes and aspirations. They have forgotten their sorrows and disabilities and actively participated in the program. In our country, there is no chance of parents and children with disabilities to attend this type of festivals. However, DRRA organizes Bangla New Year celebration program every year. This program was celebrated with sports competition for parents and children, cultural program etc. All staff of respective project attended the Bangla New year celebration program.
