News of DRRAReflection workshop with stakeholders of PIHRS project with CBM Australia


“I was able to help 900 persons with disabilities after ROANU through my community clinic and some of them were used the clinic as their shelter. It was only possible because of DRRA as I have received training and full cooperation” said Anwarul Azim a Community Health Care Provider of Bashkhali Upazila. Anwar was expressing his experience while participating in “Reflection Workshop on Promoting Inclusive Health and Rehabilitation Services for the People with Disabilities” in Chittagong. The reflection workshop was held on 16 February 2017 at Hotel Well Park, Chittagong. The objective of the workshop was to see the impacts after 2 years implementation of PIHRS project activities at Chittagong, Manikganj and Satkhira districts.

The workshop was divided into four sessions, working strategy including achievements; about most significant changes; lesson learned and challenges including innovations. DRRA Executive Director, Ms. Farida Yesmin and Civil Surgeon of Chittagong Mr. Azizur Rahman Siddik were present in the workshop. A total 30 participants including government officials, school teachers, DPO leaders, parents, persons with disabilities, NGO Representatives, DRRA staff, and journalists actively participated in the workshop.  Ms. Taga-An, Janette Jata, Program officer, CBM Australia moderated the sessions along with DRRA and CBM senior management staff. More than 30 participants took part in the day-long session.
